Personalised cancer care in the era of precision medicine

BACKGROUND: Advances in cancer treatment have not benefited all patients equally, underscoring the need for a personalised approach to care. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article is outline key elements care, including delivery goal-directed self-management and support, care integration, focus on access equity, reduction cost promotion health literacy e-health literacy. DISCUSSION: Achievement requires system-wide that targets patient, healthcare provider system with data informing practice. Primary providers, general practitioners (GPs) practice nurses, play an important growing part provision through advocacy, coordination, holistic promotion. Cancer systems can facilitate GPs' involvement early input into multidisciplinary management, timely communication, rapid acute training opportunities.
